Workshops
Crooked Path Studios extends my studio practice into community spaces through therapeutic arts programs and workshops. These virtual and community-based programs include social prescribing, creative health and aging and groups for women navigating rare or complex chronic illness.
Whether live or self-guided, I design these workshops and resources to be responsive to varied energy levels, access needs, and pacing. This work centers creativity as a health behavior that builds social connection, self-efficacy, social emotional skills, and reduces stress. You can learn more about the health benefits of a creative practice through the links below.

What is Therapeutic Arts Facilitation
A distinction that often gets blurred in arts‑in‑health spaces is the difference between art therapy and therapeutic arts facilitation.
Both are valuable. They do different work.
Art therapy is a regulated mental health profession. Art therapists are licensed clinicians with graduate‑level training who work within a psychotherapeutic relationship and scope of practice.
Therapeutic arts facilitation, where my work sits, is non‑clinical and non‑diagnostic. It uses creative process to support reflection, emotional expression, and social connection—without assessment, treatment, or therapy.
This distinction matters.
Not because one is better than the other, but because clarity protects participants, practitioners, and the integrity of the work itself.
Well‑designed therapeutic arts spaces are intentional about scope, boundaries, and referral awareness. They complement clinical services rather than replace them.
Knowing which lane you’re in—and staying there—is part of ethical practice.
Much of my facilitation work currently happens virtually, where design and boundaries matter just as much—if not more.
